Harrison Clarke’s CDM Advisory service allows us not only to fulfil the duties of Principal Designer under the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015, but also to help the Client discharge their duties. We recognise that not all construction clients have the in-house expertise to discharge their duties and that many of these requirements are met by knowledgeable construction professionals. The Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015 are not an ‘optional extra’, but must be seen as a core consideration when undertaking construction works.
Construction works are subject to a raft of regulations. The Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015 impose a range of duties on parties to a construction project. Any construction works completed in the course of a business need a Principal Designer to be formally appointed. We are able to fulfil this role, and to help the Client discharge their duty.
The Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015 requires a construction client to create a framework in which buildings are designed to be built, used, maintained, and demolished safely. Failure to follow these regulations can result in criminal proceedings. It is therefore essential that construction clients appoint a pragmatic and competent Principal Designer / CDM Adviser to assist with their project.
Our surveyors are formally trained in the requirements of the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015 and have experience in fulfilling this role in a range of project, from minor internal refurbishments, to comprehensive industrial refits with a project value of circa £2.5m. We will work with the project team to ensure that your project is compliant, without compromising the overall project aims.
